Information you provide
Messages. Metis Messenger cannot decrypt or otherwise access the content of your messages or calls. Metis Messenger does not store messages on Metis instances for delivery to devices that are temporarily offline (e.g. a phone whose battery has died). Your encrypted messages are stored on the Jupiter blockchain for retrieval when your phone requests them.Additional technical information is stored on our servers, including randomly generated authentication tokens, keys, push tokens, and other material that is necessary to transmit messages. Metis Messenger limits this additional technical information to the minimum required to operate the Services. If you desire, you can service your own Metis server for more ownership. All Metis server instances on Jupiter’s mainnet will interoperate. For example, a locally installed Metis server on a MacBook Pro will pass messages to the publicly used Metis instance maintained by the Jupiter Project.
Contacts. Metis Messenger does not ask for access to your contacts.
User Support. If you contact Metis Messenger User Support, any personal data you may share with us is kept only for the purposes of researching the issue and contacting you about your case.
Managing your information. Metis Messenger’s unique blockchain applicability does not allow for changing aliases or profile information currently. Only profile pictures are modifiable in the application Profile settings.
